What is mediation?
Mediation is a voluntary process whereby an impartial third party assists people in resolving or settling their issues quickly and confidentially. The mediator facilitates communication so that the disputing parties can work toward their own solutions.

Mediation places emphasis on non-adversarial processes and outcomes as opposed to formal hearings and tribunals. In order to be effective, mediation must be an option that is voluntarily chosen by all parties.

What is the role of the mediator?
A mediator is an individual with formal training and experience. Although mediators are impartial and will not offer legal advice or legal counsel, mediators will work towards insuring that any negotiated settlement abides by the law of the Province and/or Country. This includes the expectation that the settlement will adhere to the laws of Province and/or Country.

Fact: The average three (3) day trial costs each party involved an average of $38,000. The amount in question is an average of $50,000.Mediation is an alternative to a negotiated agreement that being considered more often by parties with disputes.
